Angioplasty
Angioplasty is a minimally invasive medical procedure used to treat narrowed or blocked arteries, commonly caused by plaque buildup. It involves inserting a thin catheter into a blood vessel, typically in the wrist or groin, and guiding it to the affected area.
At the tip of the catheter is a small balloon, which is inflated to widen the artery by compressing the plaque against the arterial walls. In many cases, a stent, which is a tiny wire mesh tube, is placed in the artery to keep it open and maintain proper blood flow.
